Dressing oils with compositions of CO2 extracts

Dressing oils with compositions of CO2 extracts are a one-size-fits-all solution, thanks to which any company operating in or just entering the food market can quickly and inexpensively expand (or shape) the product range.

Dressing oils are a product that combines the functions of oils and liquid condiments, and these are mostly liquid condiments. Extract compositions are added to the oil in a concentration of 0.1-1%, depending on the desired intensity of taste and price segment. Practically at any concentration, even the minimum, after adding the product to the finished dish, the taste of oil is not perceived, only the taste of extracts is distinguishable.

Dressing oils can be used as flavoring additives for almost all types of home cooking – they can be added to salads, stews, roasts, batters, fillings, ground beef, cereal, mashed potatoes, pasta, noodles and many other dishes. Exceptions are products with a high water content, in which oils do not dissolve – tea, for example.

In addition, dressing oils with CO2 extracts are excellent marinades for a wide range of products – meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, mushrooms. Therefore, as a running ingredient, it will be useful for lovers of roasting, cooking and grilling on charcoal.

Compared with traditional spices, dressing oils with extract compositions have a number of advantages – they are more convenient, more compact, better and longer lasting, while maintaining a bright and fresh taste. Most importantly, they do not require heat treatment to develop their flavor – after adding and mixing, each dish immediately acquires the taste of spices and fragrant herbs.

From a technological point of view, the production of dressing oils with compositions of CO2 extracts is extremely simple – since CO2 extracts are fat-soluble ingredients, oils are their “native” solvent. Therefore, simply adding the extracts to the oil and mixing thoroughly is sufficient (in some cases, the oil may need to be slightly warmed). The resulting solution is perfectly stable, never separates, does not form sediment, does not lose taste or smell and, in general, does not change its properties in any way during the entire storage period.

The shelf life of such products is determined by the shelf life of the oils used as the base, any oil being a choice (e.g. soybean or corn oil). Both refined and unrefined oils can be used, depending on which is more appropriate for your chosen product positioning. However, it is desirable to select oils that have the least inherent taste and odor.

With regard to the choice of the price segment, dressing oils are the most flexible product. The decisive factor for the costs is the concentration of the extracts in the oil, which can be varied within very wide limits – a lower one is suitable for the lower price segment, a higher one for the middle and upper price segment.

There is no worthy competition on the market for dressing oils based on CO2 extracts. There are distant analogues (most often imported) that fall sharply both in quality and in price. For this reason, the commercial potential of this type of product – rich, tasty, healthy, innovative and at the same time very practical for home cooking – is very high. Add to that the ease of implementation and within months you have a product ready to take its rightful place in the market and provide your business with a new and stable revenue stream.

We currently offer 5 ready-to-use blends for dressing oils (see image above) – these are the flavors that passed the focus group sieve and received the most positive reviews.

In addition, each of these flavors can be changed / modified according to the wishes of the customer. Other compilations of cuts that are not included in the proposed collection, but that can still be useful considering the possible options of the range, can also be offered for selection. Also, the possibility of developing completely new flavors is not excluded if the customer has a clear idea of what exactly he wants to receive.

To conclude, we note that the range of products presented in this article (dressing oils with compositions of CO2 extracts) is not limited to the commercial potential of the CO2 extract + oil theme. There are a number of promising business opportunities that will shortly be covered in separate articles with detailed descriptions, but for now we will briefly mention two of them.

  • Analogues of directly pressed oils, made according to the scheme CO2 extract + oil. According to this scheme, it is possible to collect analogues of almost all known and advertised oils, such as black cumin, sea buckthorn, rosehip, grape seed, amaranth and many others. This approach allows the manufacturer, under a single brand, within a single technological scheme, to collect analogues of a large group of popular products at once, without difficulties in production or in the raw material base.
  • An advanced version of dressing oils, where the range of extracts involved is expanded from an average of 5-7 to 10-12. The expansion is carried out through extracts with more pronounced beneficial properties, which allow positioning this product not only as a dressing oil with a moderate therapeutic and prophylactic effect, but as a complete product for a healthy diet, the regular use of which can significantly affect health for the better.

Both product types described above are under development, but more detailed information can be made available to interested customers upon request.
