At the recently completed XVIII. At the international professional competition “Best: soft drink, mineral, drinking water of the year”, the drink from Biozevtika “Lavender”, based on microemulsions of CO2 extracts, was awarded the gold medal. In addition to the syrup, the recipe of the drink included 7 microemulsions, the main of which, as the name suggests, is a microemulsion of lavender CO2 extract. The international professional competition “Best Soft Drink, Mineral and Drinking Water of the Year” is held annually on the basis of the Research Institute of Brewing, Non-Alcoholic and Wine Industry.
We are particularly pleased that the recipe for the winning drink based on microemulsions of CO2 extracts from Biozevtika was developed in the Laboratory of Soft Drinks under the leadership of Professor G. Filonova, laureate of the State Prize, developer of the recipe for the legendary Baikal Drink.
Historical reference
The recipe for the drink “Baikal” was developed by government decree in 1979 – hard to believe today, but this development (more precisely, the processing of an already existing, but not very successful recipe) lasted only 4 days. It was necessary that it be ready in time for the Olympiad 80, and the team led by G. Filonova coped with the task – the response to the foreign “Pepsi-Cola” was a success. If Baikal has yielded to foreign brands in anything, it’s only in marketing.
The original recipe for the Baikal drink included, in addition to the dye (burnt sugar), 3 extracts and 4 essential oils – extracts of St. John’s wort, eleutherococcus, licorice root and essential oils of laurel, eucalyptus, lemon and Siberian fir.
The recipe for the drink “Lavender” is the property of the Research Institute of Brewing, Alcohol and Wine Industries. If you have any questions about purchasing or licensing a recipe for your company, please contact the institute or the Soft Drinks Laboratory directly.
