25-26 March in Moscow, in the Lomonosov and Shuvalov buildings of Moscow State University. The third Moscow Economic Forum was held in Lomonosov, where Biozevtika was represented by its founder and CEO. This year the forum had the meaningful title “New Deal. Time does not wait!”, which most accurately reflects the most acute issues of the most pressing economic and socio-political issues discussed at the event, which set another record number of participants this year (about 3,000 people).
The forum was organized by Konstantin Babkin (Industrial Union “New Commonwealth”) and Ruslan Grinberg (Lomonosov Moscow State University). Within the framework of the MEF-2015, 4 plenary discussions, 9 conferences and over 40 round tables and seminars were held, at which such important issues for the country as new industrialization, sound economic policy, favorable long-term loans for industrial development, support for the agro-industrial complex and discuss the high-tech industry. Events in the field of science and education, international relations and Russia’s new role in the changing world were also addressed. Among the guests of the forum are Presidential Advisor S. Glazyev, Governor of the Belgorod Region E. Savchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Y. Gutenev, First Deputy Chairman of the Budget and Tax Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation O.Dmitrieva. Also such well-known economists and public figures as Y. Boldyrev, M. Delyagin, Y. Krupnov, M. Kalashnikov, M. Weller, A. Bunich, V. Kasatonov, V. Zhukovsky and many others attended the MEF-2015.
For our company, the relevance of the issues discussed at the forum is as acute as for any other industrial enterprise engaged in complex science-intensive production – the lack of sources of long-term cheap money in the country hampers the development of the enterprise, the steady dismantling of science and Education makes it difficult to recruit qualified personnel, and the chaos and piecemeal economic policies create problems for long-term planning.
You can find out more about the agenda and final documents on the official website of the Moscow Economic Forum. Also within the framework of the IEF there are regular sections in which specific topics of the political and economic life of the country are discussed – we invite all our colleagues and partners to take part in such events with us. After all, the issues that are discussed within the framework of the IEF are equally relevant to all of us, but sometimes we forget them in the routine. In the meantime, the economic situation in the country is not improving, and the government’s economic policy remains the same and is in no hurry to acquire meaningful and reasonable features. But if we don’t stand by and try to at least make the lively voice of domestic industry and science heard, there is a chance for improvement. So, if you’re not unfamiliar with the idea of taking part in the country’s socio-political life – write, call, make an appointment and go there together.
